About Us
The mission of the Institute for the Study of Nationalism and Conflicts (ISNC) is to examine the nature of conflicts, develop recommendations and visions for conflict transformation, and seek peaceful solutions to conflicts. The organization primarily focuses on the Georgian-Abkhaz and Georgian-Ossetian conflicts.
ISNC was founded by civil society activists who had previously worked at the Center for Development and Cooperation – the Center for Pluralism. At that organization, they led the work on conflict and displacement issues. By establishing ISNC as a separate structure, they were able to concentrate their efforts specifically on conflict-related challenges and the problems faced by communities affected by conflict, as well as on peace education.
