At the St. Nino Orthodox School of the Patriarchate of Georgia, the project “Visit – A Journey for Peacebuilding” was implemented. Students from Tserovani Public School No. 3 also took part in the event.

The project served as an act of connection and friendship between students from the two schools. During the meeting, the participants engaged in various educational and recreational activities.

With the guidance of mentor teachers, students learned about peace, peacebuilding, the causes of conflicts, and ways to resolve them peacefully. They also discussed the importance of respecting different opinions and developing tolerance.

With the support of art teachers, students created paintings on the themes of war and peace, while with the help of the music teacher, they performed traditional Georgian songs together.

The meeting was held within the framework of the project “Education for Reconciliation,” implemented by the Institute for the Study of Nationalism and Conflicts with the support of the Embassy of the Netherlands.

As part of the project, teachers participated in a series of training sessions where they received information on peace education and conflict-sensitive approaches. They also learned how to design and implement peace initiatives. At the final stage, the teachers had the opportunity to carry out their own peacebuilding initiatives in schools with internal funding support.
