A Site of Ongoing Georgian–Abkhaz Cooperation

Temo Tektumanidze presents his latest blog, focusing on a unique place where Georgians and Abkhazians continue to cooperate to this day.
“The Enguri Hydropower Plant plays a significant role in the process of conflict transformation, contributing to the restoration of trust and the transformation of attitudes between the two communities. The Enguri HPP serves as a space where Georgian and Abkhaz energy specialists work together on a continuous basis. One or two times a year, not only do Georgian and Abkhaz engineers meet, but broader meetings are also held, bringing together various stakeholders. These encounters serve as a positive example of cooperation and contribute to the strengthening of interpersonal relationships, which in turn supports the broader processes of reconciliation and peacebuilding.”
